TBT Skrillex, the DJ king of Grammys
Just a couple of days after the statement of the nominations for the 60th GRAMMY Awards, we want to celebrate a great throwback in this field.
November 30, 2011. Sonny John Moore, better known as Skrillex, is unexpectedly nominated for five Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist - a first in Grammy history for a DJ.
Grown up in Northeast Los Angeles, Skrillex is an American electronic dance music producer, DJ, singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.
On that November 30, 2011 he was nominated for a total of five Grammy Awards at the 54th edition of this competition, and won three:
Best Dance/Electronica Album - "Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites"
Best Dance Recording - "Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites"
Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical - "Cinema [Skirllex Remix]"
He now reached 12 nominations and earned a total of 8 Grammys.
