While the world mourns Azzedine Alaïa, he remembers us the interconnection among art forms.

The proof is a video, posted by @nowfashion, of the esteemed fashion designer dancing on a shoot few months ago.

Monsieur Alaïa, with model Dilone who wears a piece from his AW17 Couture collection, does not seem to be able to stop dancing to the “Despacito” beat.

In accordance to the magazine Dazed

“For the designer, dancing was something he enjoyed throughout his life, from performing as a child for his classmates to the rumour that he knew the entire dance routine to Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies”. It also translated into his design too, creating costumes for cabaret dancers in the late 70s before launching his label, then later on in life for a number of ballet productions.”

That’s the power of music, and the profundity of a brilliant artistic mind.

Moreover, even more exciting than all this, is the fact that we are talking about a huge commercial success that deserves credit for having opened the door for Spanish-language songs, in fact the song is one of most streamed track of all time.

It doesn’t matter if Azzedine Alaïa’s work represent the idea of a severe elegance, he was a visionary and as all the genius, he could join fashion, dance and music, with no restrictions.
