Depeche Mode’s world record with the most successful livestream ever thanks Telekom and Twitter

The Depeche Mode’s new album “Spirit” has finally been released the last March; it’s their first new music in 4 years.
To celebrate the album, the band headed to Berlin’s Funkhaus for a performance presented by Telekom Street Gigs.
People had the opportunity to take part in the event also through HD live stream powered by Telekom Street Gigs.
It was a great success, around 1.5 million fans experienced the concert on Twitter, YouTube and Facebook, as well as on numerous websites. More than 100,000 fans watched the gig in a parallel sent 360° livestream.
It means a big step in the innovative technology and in the music. It allows people around the world to feel the live music experience, whatever the distance from their favorite artist is, music arrives straight to them.
The success was also due to the collaboration between Deutsche Telekom and Twitter.
For the first time a concert was broadcasted worldwide on Twitter #Live. The hashtag #streetgigs trended in Twitter’s top 3 in various countries, including the USA, Great Britain, Japan, Mexico and Germany.
