5 Reasons why November 1993 was a hip-hop big deal


As you know, November is about to come to an end; but you probably don't remember that this month changed the history of hip-hop.


We should like to refer in particular to five legendary albums that changed hip-hop forever, elevating this genre in several aspects and changing the course of music.


All this happened in November of 1993.


First of all: Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)


This is the debut studio album by Wu-Tang Clan, released November 9, 1993.

The album created the distinctive sound of the American hip-hop group. It helped return New York City to national prominence about landscape of hip-hop.


On the same day - November 9, 1993 - A Tribe Called Quest released its third album Midnight Marauders, that was a critical and commercial success, especially the hit single "Award Tour"



Going back to the West Coast, it is not possible not to mention the Snoop Dogg debut album, Doggystyle. Here the track "Who Am I (What's My Name)?"
