27 October 2005, the battle between Jay Z and Nas ends

After dissing and albums sales wars, peace was made

On October 27, 2005 New York rappers Jay Z and Nas put an end to their longtime battle onstage during New York radio station Power 105.1’s Power House concert.

It was one of the most famous beef in hip-hop history. For almost a decade this lyrical battle has been holding all of us in suspense.

Then, it ended in triumph when Nas made an unexpected appearance during Jay Z performance at his concert ironically entitled “I Declare War”.

It all begun with “The City Is Mine” (In My Lifetime, Vol. 1 Album 1997), when Jay Z claimed the vacant throne left by B.I.G.

After some rhymes, sparks, back-and-forth, in 2001 Jay Z recorded "Takeover" (The Blueprint Album), is a clear diss track aimed at rappers Nas and Prodigy of Mobb Deep.

“Takeover” lead to “Ether” (Stillmatic Album 2001), a stream of insults from Nas to Jay Z:
