The Day Kanye West Killed 50 Cent in a sales battle

September 2007, we remember this month for the 50 Cent's debacle and the huge success of hip-hop.
The battle began when Kanye West decided to move up the release date for his Graduation album to the same date of 50 Cent Curtis’s release (September 11, 2007).
They spent their time until the albums releases insulting each other and before long, people were talking about this so much.
This event turned out to be the most hyped sales battle in hip-hop history, with an unexpected end. It seemed unbelievable, but West easily bested 50 Cent with 957,000 copies of Graduation against 691,000 copies of Curtis in its first six days of sales (source: Billboard).
Jay-Z, president and CEO of Def Jam Recordings, said about that:
"This is a great day for Kanye West and Roc-A-Fella Records
and a fantastic day for hip hop and artistry.
It's a good sign that heartfelt, sincere and honest music
can do these types of numbers."
