7 April 2008, Bob Dylan was the first rock star to win a Pulitzer
Let’s remember that today was an important moment not only for a single man, but for music in general.

It was, in fact, a milestone for the music industry when on April 7th 2008 Bob Dylan won a special award from the Pulitzer board for his musical compositions with the following Special Citation “For his profound impact on popular music and American culture, marked by lyrical compositions of extraordinary poetic power”.

The Pulitzer Prize is considered one of the most prestigious honors and is awarded for achievements in journalism, literary successes and musical compositions.
For the first time a rock star won this prize: it implied a recognition of the artistic value of this musical genre.
